Mission Statement: Our mission at Metro Transport is to provide quality transportation services for seniors and disabled adults living within the United Jewish Communities of MetroWest area regardless of their ability to pay for these services.
Overview
Metro Transport is a non-profit community transportation program that provides rides to senior citizens and adults with special needs, regardless of their ability to pay. Established in September 2003 with seed funding from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey, Metro Transport has been providing medical and social/quality of life transportation to senior and disabled adults throughout Essex, and parts of Morris and Union Counties in New Jersey. Metro Transport is a collaborative program between Daughters of Israel, The Jewish Community Center (JCC), Jewish Family Service (JFS) and Jewish Community Foundation (JCF), all of MetroWest, New Jersey.
A Glimpse at Metro Transport
New clients must complete a Client Intake Form. The form must be accompanied by at least one form of documentation such as your most recent income tax return or social security statement. There are two ways to submit this form:

Both new and existing clients must submit a Reservation Request Form. There are two ways to submit this form:

2. Group Charter Services
Metro Transport’s chartered group services program provides senior care facilities and organizations serving the special needs population with transportation throughout N.J. at competitive rates.
Metro Transport’s clients include nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult medical day centers, as well as synagogues, churches and other organizations.
Metro Transport’s geographic coverage is statewide, travelling to locations ranging from Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore, to The Paper Mill Playhouse and Newark Museum.

3. Donations and “Gift-a-Ride”
Metro Transport and the Jewish Community Foundation of MetroWest have launched a $10.5 Million “Gift-A-Ride” Endowment Campaign. Together with the community’s support, Metro Transport will be sustained into the future.
This vital community transportation program helps to ensure that our seniors and disabled adults and their families have peace of mind in knowing that reliable, accessible and affordable transportation is available when it is needed. The senior and disabled population in this community is growing in leaps and bounds. Your generosity will help to guarantee a long and full independent life for the seniors and disabled adults within our community today, tomorrow and forever.

4. Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates are currently available. Cash, Check or Credit Card accepted.
Currently traveling within the MetroWest Area, Essex, Lower Morris and Upper Union Counties.
Travel outside of area available, please call for hourly rate.
Hours: Mon. - Fri. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (evenings and weekends by request).
Travel to doctor’s appointments, same day surgeries, mall, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs.
State-certified drivers and wheelchairs accepted.
