Caregiver Support Resources

1. New Family Orientation
On the first Wednesday of every month at 5 p.m., Daughters of Israel holds a “New Family Orientation” in the Board Room. The Orientation provides information about everything you need to know regarding your loved one’s stay at Daughters of Israel. 2. Family Support Groups at Daughters of Israel   

Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. -- Sub-Acute Families Support Group
A weekly hour-long support group for families of our sub-acute residents, facilitated by Judy Toonkel, LCSW, in conjunction with Jewish Family Services.

Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. -- Long-Term Families Support Group
A weekly hour-long support group for families of residents who reside in our long-term care units, facilitated by Judy Toonkel, LCSW, in conjunction with Jewish Family Services.

First Monday of Every Month at 4 p.m. -- Special Care Unit Support Group
A monthly hour-long group that aims to provide education, speakers and resources for families of residents  in our dementia unit.

Tuesdays at 7 p.m. -- Peer Support Group for Caregivers in conjunction with the Linda and Rudy Slucker NCJW Center for Women
The six-week session, which takes place in the Board Room at Daughters of Israel, is led by two trained facilitators. The Group provides a comfortable forum to discuss feelings of frustration, confusion and distress with others in similar life circumstances. 3. Daughters of Israel Family Council
The mission of Family Council is to provide the highest quality of resident care and assist family and friends of residents and prospective residents with problems regarding their roles as caregivers and adjustment to life in a nursing home setting. For more information, please click here.

4. MetroWest Cares
MetroWest Cares is a collaborative effort of United Jewish Communities (UJC) of MetroWest NJ and its agencies to create a continuum of care for the elderly; a comprehensive, consumer-oriented network of services, including physical and mental health care, spiritual health and well being, social and vocational services, advocacy, transportation and housing.
