In addition to providing long-term skilled nursing and residential care, Daughters of Israel offers among the finest sub-acute rehabilitation services available.
Our mission in Rehabilitation is to help you or your family member regain function to his or her highest potential, whether recovering from a stroke, fracture, amputation, or an acute episode of a degenerative or neurological disease.
Sub-acute Care and
Rehabilitative Services
Rehabilitation at Daughters of Israel is a team activity. We work together to:
Decrease and relieve pain to promote maximum freedom of movement.
Increase range of motion and muscle strength and improve balance and coordination.
Improve functioning in activities of daily living, mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
Skilled, Licensed Professionals
Our experienced rehabilitation staff is specially trained in occupational, physical and speech therapy. Under physician supervision, our team of skilled professionals will guide your loved one to his or her maximal functional potential.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps to re-establish independence in self care activities, such as feeding, dressing, bathing, toileting, car transfers, and the use of assistive and adaptive equipment when indicated.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy teaches techniques to reinforce mobility, such as ambulation, and the management of stairs, ramps, curbs and wheelchairs. We guide our clients to higher performance levels with the use of personalized therapeutic exercise programs. When recovering from a stroke or accident the greatest strides are made when therapy begins as soon as the patient is medically stable.
Speech and Language Therapy
Speech and language therapy focuses on evaluation and treatment of speech, voice, and language disorders that prevent clients from effectively communicating. Swallowing disorders are also evaluated and treated as needed.
Audiology evaluates hearing acuity and determines if the disorder is neurological or conductive in origin. Our consulting audiologist can recommend corrective therapy when necessary. |
